HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! and other random thoughts...

Happy New Year! I'm so excited to see what 2009 will bring! So much has been going on the end of '08. I believe it's going to be a great year despite the economy - and I'm not speaking financially... but in terms of success. Success has different meanings to different people... and in my definition, it is a direct comparison of where you started to where you are now!

I'm excited to get things updated on my website asap - I have new wedding packages for '09 to fit ALL budgets! So many great options in albums, etc etc.... can you tell I'm excited?

ALSO - I will have a booth at the upcoming Bridal Gala hosted by All About Weddings (bridal shop) at the Renaissance Hotel in Montgomery on January 18th... stop by and hang out! I'll also have some great incentives regarding wedding photography for coming to the bridal show!

AND last but not least - CONGRATULATIONS to all of you new brides out there - it's 'engagement season'! However, I love hearing all of the 'how I got engaged' stories.
Have a happy and safe New Year - and come visit the bridal show in a few weeks!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Just a note to say Merry Christmas to everyone! I pray this is a special time for all of my clients (who are my friends!), friends and family to come together to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus! May you all grow closer to one another, even those far away, and also to God during this wonderful time of year. And you can't ask for warmer weather in the south today...is it Christmas without snow? lol!

More blogs to come, stay in touch!

Tom & Ashley

This is the cutest couple ever and they've been married 10 YEARS!!! You'd never know it, they were so lovey dovey (I hope we're all like that in 20 years of marriage!). Tom and Ashley were photographed at Shakespeare Park in Montgomery... a cloudy morning, but the textured sky added to the mood and !POP! of the red shirts they wore. And of course, Ashley is a regular 'sponsor' of Starbucks so I had to add their lattes in there!

Hope you enjoy, Ashley, I did a little digital texturing to a few of these...

Rebecca!

I'm a little behind on the blogging... but thought I'd catch up a bit with a few cool shots from Rebecca's location senior portrait session! What a cool senior to hang out with for the afternoon! She is a very involved and active woman at her school - it's funny how she reminded me of myself when I was in high school. And she was up for about anything which made the session even more fun! We didn't stray too far from downtown Wetumpka, but check out a few shots we captured before it got too chilly outside!

Thanx for everything, Rebecca! It was great hanging out Saturday!

Megan & Sam Engagement

We got the chance to coordinate a downtown Wetumpka engagement session with Megan & Sam this past weekend. The wedding is next June... they are such a sweet couple, I love hearing stories of how people meet and JUST KNOW that he or she is the ONE... (just like me and jOhN!)

I love the colors they wore which provided amazing contrast with everywhere we photographed. You would never know these were shot in downtown Wetumpka by the bridge (it looks like a field in the middle of nowhere!). Thanks for making the drive - I hope all the pressure and 'cheesiness' paid off, Sam! Looking forward to your beautiful wedding and getting to know you both even more.

Norrell Family Christmas!

A spur of the moment session occurred when Amanda and Josh stopped by the studio the other day to photograph their 7 month old baby girl, Ashlynd...we didn't have much time with the sun setting, but here's just a few I played with... Ashlynd is so cute! and so is her dog, Romeo :)

Taylor

Taylor was part of the following family session, but we also had time to capture her in some beautiful settings with different outfits. She is only 16, but what a beautiful and sweet young woman. She is also soooo relaxed in front of the camera which makes my job a little easier!

Let me know what you think, Taylor! And I hope you did great at the pageant this past Saturday!

family in the park

I got to meet Becky and Clint this past Saturday along with their kids for a little family session. It started out to be a chilly morning, but evolved to a beautiful day with perfect lighting in the park in downtown Wetumpka. We were able to capture the last bit of the leaf color and the river added color to the background as well. You can tell the kids had fun playing in the leaves! While photographing kids, you have to be ready at all times - they were great, as we actually got some structured family portraits!

Great to meet you all!

just a few more weeks...

So many blogs to catch up on...but I've playing around with some textures I've photographed while traveling recently...besides the opportunity to photograph my friend Becca (and her husband Jonathan) this Sunday. They drove from ATL to have her maternity session yesterday. What awesome friends! And so cool to see her less than 3 weeks away from the baby's due date! check out this beautiful image we captured while playing around with backlighting - and my wings I finally got use!!! More to come of you two - thanx again!

Nick & Christie & the kids!

I finally got to meet Amy's sister and her family last week - we did some family portraits at their beautiful house for Christmas (which I can't believe it's almost Thanksgiving!). Christie had everything soooo coordinated. Check out the front door portrait. And little Cara's eyes...it's like looking into the ocean.

Thank you for having me over, we'll all have to get together again without a camera involved (well, that's hard to do...)  ;)

A few more from the previous post...

2 more beach sessions...

A few more families made it out to the beach...the beauty of photography is it gives me a reason to hang out with people and it's fun for everyone. The kids were a bit more interested in looking for seashells and getting wet, but we were able to get a few 'portraits' out of them...And your photos will be online later today, Kandi and Debbie! Thanx for the honor of capturing this time, I know it's hard to get your family all in one place and you have to take advantage of it! See you in Indiana sometime... :)

Mike, Kim & Krista at the beach...

Flashback to St. Augustine last weekend...I had the honor of photographing 3 families the morning after Tina & Greg's wedding...Kim & Mike were first with their CUTE little girl, Krista. What an angel! It was so cool to meet her since  the last time I'd seen Kim, she was 7 months pregnant! Here are a few shots from the session - I like the vertical with them walking, it looks very surreal and hollywood at the same time. I'm sure they're wishing they were back at the beach instead of Michigan this week...thank you Kim and Mike! (CD is in the mail!)

Tina & Greg...

WHAT A WEDDING!!! I have WAY too many awesome photos, so it was hard to choose a select few to give you an idea of the story....but Tina and Greg were engaged in St. Augustine, Florida last year at the famous lighthouse. Tina requested a 'First Look' to be captured at this location. And it was beautiful - mostly because we ALL cried when Greg came walking up to Tina to see her for the first time in

her wedding gown waiting for him at the lighthouse. It's hard to not cry tears of joy in moments like that...even more so since Tina and I are from the same hometown in Indiana and I've known her for years...so it was an honor to be a part of her day by photographing it!

So great to see everyone - Tina's family, old friends, my sister...and especially to meet the man Tina married and Greg's family as well. And last but not least, Greg's two wonderful boys who served as his best men.

The wedding and reception were held at the White Room in old downtown St. Augustine (our oldest established city!). I'm not really posting much of the wedding and reception, but there will be plenty used on my website in the future...one of my favorites shots is Tina & Greg kissing by the orange wall - and Tina is laughing...
