boys and their toys...

Jaxon & Wyatt loved playing on their Grandpa's tractor...and getting dirty in the process! It was fun trying to keep up with these two cute brothers - and it got even better when Grandpa got home to take them for a ride! Thanx for allowing us to spend the evening with you all - next time we'll coordinate dinner at Wendy's together, lol!!!

Christina & Jay's engagement

Last night, Christina & Jay drove to Wetumpka (thanx for driving so far, I know gas is TOO high!) for their engagement session. We photographed them in the historic downtown area utilizing the beautiful bridge for a background, as well as the river. The fading light made us hurry a bit, but we got some great images! I'm looking forward to their Montgomery wedding in November!

House of Crosses

I had a day out shooting for fun with my friend Tricia - she lives in Prattville and there are so many cool places to photograph around there, so we started with a church, grabbed some lunch and kept going to battle mosquitos in the 'bamboo forest' and finished at the landmark House of Crosses. I'm not from around here, so this was all new to me... I don't know the entire story regarding the House of Crosses, but apparently the man who started this passed away about 4 years ago. He put out a cross supposedly everyday his wife survived cancer from the day of her diagnosis. But there may be other stories, so don't quote me!

This place is very interesting - to me it was peaceful yet unnerving. Hard to describe...there are hundreds of decaying crosses and messages constructed on old appliances, car parts, anything you can think of. Something you'll have to see for yourself, but here's a few images I captured on our adventure.

Thank you, Tricia, for the tour and hangin with me! And of course, being my mosquito repellant! :)

last week's roadtrip - INDIANA!

John & I went to my hometown of North Judson, Indiana last week - it was a whirlwind trip to see my Grandma, who is doing great. It was John's first time meeting her. While we were there, we caught a drive-in movie in Plymouth. Very cool - and to add to the whole nostalgia of the evening, we were in John's mom's T-bird, so of course we got a view of the movie and the stars! The b/w shot of the field of sunflowers was also near NJ. Growing up, I only thought sunflower fields were in Kansas, so it was a photo op for me as opposed to the corn ;)

Catrina & Corey

What a great couple! I finally got to meet Catrina and Corey the day of their wedding this past Saturday. Catrina is one of those gals that you know is a sweetheart from the first conversation on the phone. They came back from Texas to get married in Catrina's hometown of Montgomery. Here's a small sample from the evening wedding - can't wait to hear about the remaining party hours, this crowd was getting down with the very first dance!

It was great meeting you two! Stay in touch!

the 'R' family

I've been traveling a bit...so I am behind on a few posts! While I was in Atlanta last week for the 'I Shoot People' seminar, I was able to meet up with a wonderful couple, Robin and 'Reca' and their two adorable kids, Rebecca and Roman (aka 'Noodle'). We had a lot of fun shooting and catching up in my vacant condo which served as a nice background for a simple family session. Miss you guys! Thanx again, Robin!
