The Engagement of Artesha & Ron!

Artesha and Ron are such a sweet couple - and might I add, enduring. We photographed their engagement session at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens on one of the hottest mornings I had been out in for awhile! I think Ron was done after about 15 minutes of heat and 'posing', but these two are troopers. We were able to capture some beautiful and fun images!

She looks likes she should be in a magazine!

Can you tell they actually had fun despite 95+degrees?
Thank you, Artesha & Ron, for being such awesome sports! We captured many more memories than shown. I am looking forward to your wedding next month! It's going to be gorgeous!

The Wedding of Marilynn & John!

Marilynn & John were married this past weekend at Liberty Park Baptist Church in Birmingham! What a beautiful sunny (and cold!) day, but everything came together and was a perfect celebration! They had family from all over the states to make this event so memorable in their lives! Marilynn was such a beautiful bride!

The reception was held at the Hilton Perimeter Park - she had the most beautiful cake!

The ladies - and of course, sisters! Who else can make you laugh before you walk down the aisle?

As always, totally out of order... this shot was after the ceremony and formals with the sun already set...and 24 degrees! Dang, it was cold!

A few detail shots above...her grandmother holds the pearls that she wore herself in her wedding! I love traditions like that! And a shoe shot of the shoes that never walked down the aisle... Marilynn opted to go barefoot (which sent the trend throughout the bridesmaids, lol!)

The guys - I did not post the 'jump' shot, you'll have to see it in the gallery!

I love hotel carpets! Can you believe they did this for me? This just shows what a fun couple they are - they have so much to look forward to together!

Thank you Marilynn & John for having me as part of your day!

The Wedding of Nichole & Ferris!

Nichole & Ferris had a beautiful fall wedding this past weekend at her hometown church in Birmingham! It was such a touching ceremony for such a sweet couple! The music during the ceremony definitely put a few tears in my eye. Check out the images and let me know what you think - there are too many great shots, I couldn't fit them all here!

Her dress is of the 'Greek goddess' style - at least that is what I call it! Love it!

The guys - and some snazzy suits!

The ladies also had it going on with peachy-rust-toned dresses and shawls.

The Mr. and Mrs.!

Ferris's son finally smiled - with the help of Nichole ;)

The reception was held at the Avon Theater in the old town area of Birmingham. It is such a classy and rustic atmosphere. I love Nichole's colors and details! (Great job, Francesca!)

Thank you Nichole and Ferris! Congratulations on your life together as one in ATL - stay in touch! If you are looking for the gallery, it will be posted next week with Nichole's maiden name as the password.

The Wedding of Laura & Duke!

What a day! Laura & Duke's wedding came together perfectly this past weekend in Tuscaloosa. Their original plan for the wedding and reception was to be held at her parents home, but despite the forecast, it had to be moved to Smith Hall, the field museum on the campus of the University of Alabama. Every detail, flower, lighting, everything was in place to bring the formal and fun garden party inside!

I love weddings with sentimental touches - my favorite was the fact that Laura wore her mother's wedding dress, but reconstructed (sleeves to strapless, lengthened, etc) - she looked gorgeous! Their initials and wedding dates were monogrammed in the hem of the dress (see above photo). I'll let the images tell the story - we had soooo many, you're getting an extra long blog - special thanks to Michelle White from Atlanta for helping capture Laura and Duke's day!

Laura before heading to Smith Hall...beautiful!

Laura's dad sees her for the first time in the dress just outside the steps of their home. He smiled and laughed in every photo we snapped of him!

Laura & Duke did a First Look inside the hall on the landing of the staircase...after the formals, we went outside with just the two of them for a few shots.

The wedding ceremony...a shot before she walks down the aisle as Duke awaits!

The party is rockin'!

The first accidental out-of-focus shot I've ever liked! It's Fine Art, not out-of-focus, lol!

And so the party came to an end and Laura & Duke are off in the islands... the gallery will be posted early next week with Laura's maiden last name for the password, if you're looking for it!

Thank you to all of the family and vendors who participated, it was a glamorous afternoon and evening and so much fun! Both families are truly family! Thanks also to Emily, the events coordinator - fabulous! And of course, thank you so much Laura & Duke for having Michelle and I welcomed and able to capture this special day in your life and the beginning to so much more! Congratulations!

The Wedding of Jennifer & Tony!

Jennifer & Tony were married in a beautiful rainy day wedding in Trussville, Alabama (north of Birmingham) this past weekend! What a great couple! I am so excited for them and the future God has for them as husband and wife. Their wedding and reception were held at the Northpark Baptist Church. Above, Jennifer's dad sings during the ceremony.

After the ceremony and formal shots, we grabbed a few outdoor photos during a break in the rain.

The wedding party! The colors were black and silver with red flowers - gorgeous!

Tony & Jennifer did a sand ceremony symbolizing their unity - with a base layer of white sand signifying Jesus as the foundation of their marriage. Tony's dad officiated the wedding and poured this 3rd sand with them.

A few details...

The flower girls had so much fun dressing up for the day!

Congratulations Tony & Jennifer! I know you're having a wonderful honeymoon at the time of blogging, but stay in touch! The wedding and reception were great! Happy travels back to Indiana!
